World Card Making Day

I'm not working this Saturday so will be able to participate in World Card Making Day. Anyone want to join me? Just contact me and we can set something up.

Summer Sunsets

{Sorry for the quality of this photo. My camera battery is dying.}
I used an old favourite Stampin Up set. Its one of the first ones I purchased many years ago but it still has a place in my heart. The sun motif was perfect for these sunset photos.

Another layout by my friend Lizz

Did this layout with ribbon at Lizz's class. Just need to get some journalling from the graduate's mom and a few finishing touches will complete it.

Layout using Designer paper in the Country Living Christmas kit

After creating a class using the Stampin Up Country Living Christmas kit, I still had 4 sheets of designer paper left over. I only used 2 for this layout and added a couple of sheets of real red textured cardstock and am happy with the results.

Another layout

I had a few extra minutes yesterday before I had to pick the kids up from school so I got out the paper I purchased before the zoo trip and the photos I took. Following a double page layout sketch it was simple to put it together very quickly.

Hallowe'en at Shelter Valley

Working on no sleep

a layout by my friend Lizz
using now retired papers and in colours (They were not retired when we did the layout.
I used it to document our annual trip to a scrapbook convention)
a page kit I purchased a long time ago
5 rules for living- When things become crazy they are a good place to start to get things under control.
a scraplift of something I liked
The rub on reads Beautiful, God must be a painter. Why else would there be so many colours
Both of these photos show streaming sunlight behind my subjects
a page I started but didn't have the right photos for. I delight in flowers, especially those first signs of spring peeking through the snow. Jenna delights in cuddling with our cat Kally.

Maybe I should work on no sleep more often. I'm coming off 2 overnight shifts, have 2 days off and then have 2 12 hour overnight shifts on the weekend. I know my schedule will be so mixed up but I didn't want to sleep the day away and then not be able to sleep tonight. I decided to try to stay awake for a while this morning, sleep this afternoon and be up with my family for dinner and the evening. In order to stay awake I finished off some layouts I had started and just needed to add photos, title and an embellishment or 2.

Finishing touches

I've been adding finishing touches to these layouts I started some time ago. They are either kits, a class from Novi or a scraplift. It feels good though to have them done. I have a couple more but will save them for another day.

Our Build a Bear Tea Party

Our Build A Bear Tea Party was so much fun. We coloured the stamps with markers and stamped.

We stamped the images and then coloured with markers. The Sweet Treat Cups were still filled when they went home!
We stamped and water coloured with brushes and the ink pads.

And then we made a z fold card with paper pieced bears.
Anyone want to join us for the next one?

Just Beclause

I had lots of time to be creative yesterday. First

a scrapbook layout class at Lizz's and last night I created 17 swap cards for the Simply Stars swap on Saturday. I enjoyed playing with the new Just Beclause set and the wheel from Stampin Up's Holiday Mini. You can't see it very well but I used glitter on the white parts of Santa so my husband told me I had a sparkling personality.

Gorgeous weekend in Goderich

I was working overnights so Arthur and the kids spend a wonderful weekend at Karen and Carol's trailer at Shelter Valley Campground in Goderich. When I dropped them off we got to enjoy the sunset. By the time I picked them up yesterday, Aaron had made a special friend. I'm sure he'd love to take Belle home but he'll have to settle for visiting her at Aunt Karens. The children enjoyed the finale which was trick or treating with their cousins and the other kids at the campground

Have a great Labour Day weekend!

Haven't had much time to be creative lately

I haven't had much time to be creative lately. Other things just keep getting in the way. Anyway, when everyone goes back to school on Tuesday, including hubby (provided we can get government to work efficiently) I will have some time to breathe and possible create. In the meantime I have been finishing up some layouts I started earlier and will post them as they are completed.

Are you watching my counter?

I posted last week there would be a prize for the first person to comment when my counter gets to 066666. Its almost there. Check back often to see it get to the goal.

Some Beach

We were able to go to one of my favourite places last night to spend a little time away from hustle and bustle. I slept better last night than I have in weeks.

Kid's love their new coffee table

Uncle Murray gave Aaron and Jenna a coffee table that was too big for his new house. They are quite happy with it. I gave them some wicker baskets so they can keep the top of the table cleared off so I am a happy camper too.

Couch (only used by a little old lady after church on Sundays

We were given a sofa today to replace our thread bare one. The print is a little lighter than this one with gray and pink in it. I chuckled when the following thought came to mind. The used car salesman who tells you its been driven by a little old lady to church on Sunday.
My gold accent cushions just won't work any longer! Gives me an excuse to redecorate the living room. Fabricland here I come!
