I'm finally a Stamping Up demonstrator!!!!

I really miss working in the Scrapbooking/Stamping World so I took advantage of a recent promotion and joined Stampin Up as an independent demonstrator. I have been purchasing and using Stampin Up products as long as they have been available in Canada and have only good things to say about them.

I am really looking forward to sharing my passion for papercrafting with others again.
I attended my first demonstrator's meeting in London this evening and when fellow demonstrators where asked what the best 3 things about being a demonstrator were many answered: Meeting people, meeting people and meeting more people.

Wish me luck

I have my second interview tomorrow morning at 10 am. I'll let you know how I make out as soon as I hear anything. In the meantime please send some good luck Karma my way.

Look what my son brought home from school last night

Our elementary school now has a brand new instrumental program for its grade 7 & 8's.
My son had a wish list of 3 instruments and got his first choice. He was up bright and early this morning so he could show me his bright shiny baritone and how it worked and sounded. What a wonderful opportunity for the kids.

New laptop

I am typing this entry from my new laptop. The kids are looking over my shoulder just waiting for a chance to show me how to use Powerpoint. Leave to a 10 and 12 year old to teach me about computers.

Michaels has $1.50 mini alphabet stamps

I was in London early today for a job interview and had some time to kill so I stopped in at Michaels to get a witch stamp for a card I'm going to CASE and found a new selection of $1.50 mini alphabet stamps. Cool deal. I picked up 4 sets although they had many more.

Skribbles and Scraps card class

As promised here are some photos of cards we made the other day in Sarnia at Skribbles and Scraps.

Travel Journal

My mother-in-law leaves on Friday for a European Vacation that will span England, France, Poland and Holland. I bought a black bound book so that she could have a journal. The book came with stickers so that she could add a tab to each day's notes. I added a few Jolee's boutique travel stickers, embossed "my journal" on the cover and stamped the bottom of the inside pages with some travel sayings and border stamps. Added a ribbon so she could tie it closed and Voila! A quick and easy project and a place to jot down her travel memories.

A new corrected 2009 4X calendar for chipboard coasters.

I had inadvertently uploaded the older file and not the updated one. If you downloaded one yesterday, delete it and redownload the one at this link. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Treated myself to a new tool

I needed some refill pages for my latest scrapbook album so while shopping I found a zillion things I would like to have. I did treat myself to a pumpkin edge punch by Martha Stewart. Already have some ideas running through my head but no time to try them out right now.
ps: Just wish the pumpkin faces were upside down. Then you could use the border for the bottom of a card

Scrapbooked with a friend today

I was able to spend some time with a friend today at one of my favourite scrapbook stores. Wish I could do it more often.
Used my Wishblade to cut the titles this evening. I completed some journalling on the Just Hanging Out pages after I took the photo to post.
I worked on another layout tonight but need to print some photos before I can finish it.

I was about to disown my brayer but then. . . . . .

I was about to disown my brayer. I hadn't had much luck with it and didn't have any use for it until. . . . . .

During my blog hopping I came across a blog by Michelle Zindorf. Michelle does amazing work with colours. I have been watching her tutorials for weeks now and didn't have the time until this evening to actually try one. This is our version of her card shown here. Jenna helped me when she finished her homework. I still like Michelle's better. I don't yet have the control of where the colour goes but it has convinced me that maybe my brayer deserves another chance.

Back to school

The kids are back to school and I don't know where the summer went. I always say that but this year is even worse. I've gone back to work full time and am finding it challenging to balance work and family, especially since I work shift work in a residential group home. My family has been so understanding and helpful.
We were able to spend the last few days of summer on vacation. We spent a few days in Toronto. Highlights included Arthur doing the Drop Zone at Canada's Wonderland, the tinsmith at Black Creek Pioneer Village, using our fingers to eat at Medeival Times and browsing at IKEA and Bass Pro Shop in Toronto.
I am looking forward to a more regular schedule that will include time for stamping and scrapbooking.
